According to the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Republic of Bashkortostan, over 4,500 tons of these products were imported last year.
Specifically, 2,071 tons of various fruits, including apricots, watermelons, grapes, tangerines, nectarines, peaches, cherries, and prunes, along with 29.7 tons of peanuts, were brought in from China, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. Additionally, more than 328,000 cut flowers were imported from Armenia and China, along with 40 tons of wheat seed for sowing and 156 tons of cracked rice from Belarus and Kazakhstan.
The supervisory agency reported that quarantine phytosanitary control certificates were issued for 255 batches of quarantine products based on inspections and laboratory tests conducted at the Bashkir branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Animal Health (VNIIZG), which is under the purview of Rosselkhoznadzor.
For comparison, in 2024, the territorial office of Rosselkhoznadzor inspected 3,867 tons of imported fruits and vegetables.
It is important to note that the national project "International Cooperation and Export" is being implemented as part of the national goal for "Decent and Effective Work and Successful Entrepreneurship." This project aims to ensure real growth in non-commodity and non-energy exports by at least 70 percent by 2030 compared to 2020, according to Bashinform.
