Inflation in Bashkortostan in November was the lowest in the past two years, according to analysts at the National Bank of the Republic. From 8.1% in October, annual price growth slowed to 6.7% in December. Compared to October, the increase was 0.25%, meaning prices remained virtually unchanged. As a result, inflation in the region is significantly lower than in the Volga Federal District (7.4%) and equal to the national average (6.6%).
Fruits and vegetables traditionally become more expensive as winter approaches. Tea and coffee also increased in price, as producers and distributors prepare for the introduction of mandatory digital labeling of tea and coffee products. Meanwhile, sugar prices continued to decline, as did computers, communications equipment, and television and radio products. Overall, non-food prices increased moderately over the month, while services fell, especially in the tourism sector.
