Russia introduces quota on rice exports

The quota has been set at 200,000 tons per year.

A quota on the export of unprocessed rice outside the EAEU countries will come into effect on January 1 and remain in place until December 31, 2026. The Russian government adopted the measure.

The export duty within the quota will be zero, while exports exceeding the quota will be subject to a 50% duty on the product's customs value.

The initiative aims to stimulate rice farming in the country and expand access to new foreign markets.
