Bashkir agricultural exports reached $261.3 million by the beginning of the second ten-day period of October this year. This is $37 million more than a year ago.
The region's agricultural products are most frequently exported to Algeria, India, China, Iran, and the CIS countries. Exports primarily include oil and fat products, milk powder, meal, cake, and flax.
"Our goal is to export value-added products, not raw materials. We want to sell cheeses, baby food, and milk powder on the international market. This will generate foreign exchange earnings and support our processing plants," commented Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
