

Over the first eight months of this year, 1,528 tons of plant products were imported to Bashkiria from abroad, the Rosselkhoznadzor of the Republic of Bashkiria reported. They were imported from Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Turkey.
For example, 1,298 tons of apricots, watermelons, tangerines, nectarines, peaches, cherries, and prunes were imported from Uzbekistan and Turkey.
40 tons of wheat seeds for sowing were purchased in Belarus, 156 tons of crushed rice in Kazakhstan, and 29.7 tons of peanuts in Uzbekistan.
328 thousand pieces of cut flowers were imported from Armenia and China.
Over 3 thousand tons of plant products were imported to the region from January to August 2024. Fruit and vegetable imports have noticeably shrunk in 2023 — retailers have tried to work more with domestic products.
