Inflation in Bashkiria was lowest in Volga Federal District

In July, annual inflation was 8.6%, compared to the month — 0.7%.

In July, annual inflation in the republic continued to decline and was 8.6% (9.2% in June, 9.6% in May). This is the lowest figure in the Volga Federal District, noted the National Bank of the Republic of Bashkortostan (in the country — 8.8%). Prices increased by 0.7% in June.

The most noticeable increase in prices was in services: in July, housing and communal services tariffs were indexed (growth +16.5% compared to the year). Household services increased in price by 15.8% over the year, medical by 13.3%, education by 8.5%, and cultural by 12%.

In the non-food sector, there is an increase in the price of medicines (+11.2% year-on-year) and fuel (+9.7%). Still, durable goods have become cheaper: washing machines, refrigerators, microwave ovens, and laptops (equipment -1.5%, TV and radio products -7.6%). This is due to a decrease in demand and the strengthening of the ruble, experts explain. The annual increase in prices for cars was a nominal 0.28%. Food has become cheaper by 0.7% over the month and has risen by 10.8% over the year. Over the course of a year, the most noticeable price increases are milk (19%), bread and bakery products (15%), and tea, coffee, and cocoa (11.6%). Due to the increase in supply, eggs (-36%) and fruit and vegetable products have become cheaper, most noticeably beets, cucumbers, cabbage, and potatoes.

Although the overall price increase has decreased, it remains above the target (4%). The regulator will maintain such rates in the economy for the necessary time that will help return inflation to 4% in 2026, the Central Bank noted.
