Central Bank issued coin honored to first hockey match 80th anniversary
The USSR Ice Hockey Championship was first held in December 1946.
On August 11, the Bank of Russia issued a commemorative coin "Hockey" of the "Russian Sport" series. The history of ice hockey in Russia began in December 1946, when the first USSR championship was played, the Central Bank press service recalled. Today, there are three professional hockey leagues and one youth league in the country.
The 3-ruble coin was issued in a print run of 3,000 copies. Material: 925 silver, weight 31.1 g.
