Bashkiria took 16th place in the rating of regions by road quality, published by RIA Novosti. According to the data presented, 68.6% of public roads of regional, inter-municipal, or local significance in the region are in a standard condition.
The top three are Moscow, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, and Chelyabinsk Oblast. It should be noted that in the last two subjects, the density of hard-surface roads per 1 thousand square kilometers of territory is significantly less than in Bashkiria. The republic's result is the highest among the regions of the Volga Federal District. Earlier, Bashkiria took 17th place in a similar rating. Thus, the region's position in the rating has improved.
In March 2025, the Republican Road Activity Program for 2025-2030 was approved in Bashkiria. In addition to the construction and repair of roads between settlements, it provides for the reconstruction of bridges and overpasses, the installation of lighting, the repair of culverts, and the organization of weight control points. In total, it is planned to repair 985 km of roads of the backbone network, as well as the completion of large-scale projects: the construction of the "Southern Gate" of Ufa, the expansion of the R-240 highway on the bypass of Sterlitamak, the connection of the Eastern exit with the R-240, the approach to the M-12 "East" through the street named after the City of Halle. Let us recall that these goals were set by Radiy Khabirov when he took office in September 2024. In the previous six-year period (2019-2024), over 9,721 km of roads and more than 9,900 linear meters of bridges were built, reconstructed, and repaired in the republic. In 2023, on the initiative of Radiy Khabirov, a road repair program was launched. Over the past 2 years, 8 billion rubles have been allocated for their repair (4 billion rubles annually). This made it possible to repair 255 km of such roads, including 135 km in 2024. This year, funding for road repairs was increased to 4.5 billion rubles. And this is not the limit. Despite the difficult economic situation, at the Head of the Region's instruction, a decision was made to increase funding for the program by 1 billion rubles annually and bring it to 9.5 billion rubles by 2030.
