The bill on increasing the minimum wage by 20.7% in 2026 was published on the website of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation last week for public discussion. The government annually establishes the minimum wage taking into account the norms of federal legislation. For it, the minimum wage should not be lower than 48% of the median salary over the past year.
Now the minimum wage is 22,440 rubles and directly affects 4.6 million Russians. In Bashkiria, the minimum wage is now 25,806 rubles taking into account the district coefficient (15%).
In total, since 2000, the minimum wage has increased 26 times.
