Bashkir kumiss is becoming most important export product

Bashkiria traditionally ranks first in the country in kumiss production. Among the leading regions are Abzelilovsky, Alsheevsky, Belebeevsky, Baymaksky, Uchalinsky and others.

"Bashkir kumiss has also become popular abroad. It is becoming the most important export product," Radiy Khabirov noted.

Last year alone, Bashkiria supplied 6.4 thousand tons of kumiss and kumiss drink to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

"We will definitely continue to support kumis makers. Horse breeding is not only a national tradition of Bashkortostan. This is also a large component of our economy, and it has good prospects. The kumiss season in the republic is in full swing. Drink it - and be healthy! ", - the Head of Bashkiria summed up. In the first half of 2025, Bashkiria increased the export of dairy products. More than 6,740 tons of dairy products were prepared for export by the processing enterprises of the republic. This is 916 batches of dry milk, dry whey, kumis and other dairy products.
