Interest in investments is growing in Bashkortostan

Over the past year, the number of investors in the Republic of Bashkortostan has increased, with more than 72,000 residents investing in stock market instruments. Among them, the largest percentage is made up of active middle-aged citizens - about every fifth person falls into the 35-45 age category.

It is noteworthy that age is not an obstacle to participation in trading: the oldest market participant recently turned 99 years old. Representatives from VTB Bank reported this at a shareholders' and clients' seminar held in the capital of the region.

Analysts noted the peculiarities of the investment behavior of residents of the republic. A typical investor from Bashkortostan is a man aged 35-45, whose portfolio contains up to five instruments. Shares of the largest Russian enterprises, such as Gazprom and Lukoil, are in high demand, and federal loan bonds and mutual funds are also becoming increasingly popular. Over the years, the share of the latter has doubled, amounting to an impressive 17%.

Men are more active on the stock exchange, making up 85% of all transactions. Investors from Bashkiria trade on the stock market regardless of age. Thus, one of the elderly investors made transactions totaling more than 1.2 million rubles last year.

VTB My Investments investment strategist Stanislav Kleshchev presented analysts' expectations for the end of 2025: inflation may slow to 8-9%, and the key rate may decrease to 19%. The dollar exchange rate, according to forecasts, may reach 99 rubles by the end of 2025. The Moscow Exchange Index may rise to 3,300 points in a year, thanks to the dividend season and easing of monetary policy.

The bank's broker experts recommend paying attention to long-term OFZs with a fixed coupon and corporate bonds of the first and second tiers, with a yield of 19-24% per annum. In the stock market from April to June, shares of the financial, consumer, and IT sectors were considered promising. Investment consultant Yaroslav Lazarev spoke about existing services for supporting private investors.
