One of the Agro-Industrial Forum sessions in Ufa was on agricultural insurance. Last year, the republic was in a state of emergency due to the soil's overwetting: 373 enterprises were damaged, about 450 thousand hectares of crops were destroyed, and 179 thousand hectares of the harvest perished.
The payments related to this emergency accounted for most of all insurance: 144 million out of 160 million rubles.
For the first time in Bashkiria, a significant area—about 15% of crops—was insured in 2024, noted Kornei Bizhdov, president of the National Union of Agricultural Insurers (NUAI).
According to the NUAI, 436 thousand hectares of land were insured in the region last year - 2.3 times higher than the 2023 figures (190 thousand hectares).
About 50 thousand hectares of winter agricultural crops are insured in the republic - about 19% of their area.
The insured livestock amounted to 301,000, including 96% (5.1 million) in poultry farming, 80% (443 thousand) in pig farming, and 17% (66 thousand) in cattle farming.
