The regional office of Rosselkhoznadzor reported that Bashkiria farmers have increased chickpea exports. Cultivating this high-margin legume crop, which is not traditional for the republic, is becoming one of the significant sources of income for the agricultural sector of Bashkiria. Thus, last year, Bashkir agricultural producers exported 1,700 tons of chickpeas. Over 1,450 tons were shipped to Kazakhstan. Another 176 tons were exported to Turkey, 50 tons to Kyrgyzstan, and over 20 tons to Afghanistan.
The other day, an agricultural enterprise in the Khaibullinsky District exported another 169 tons of dried chickpeas to Kazakhstan. The selected samples passed all the examinations required by the Customs Union countries in the Bashkir testing laboratory, subordinate to Rosselkhoznadzor.
"According to test results, no dangerous quarantine organisms were identified. Bashkir chickpeas meet the requirements of the importing country. Phytosanitary certificates have been issued. The products have been shipped to Kazakhstan," concluded the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Republic of Bashkortostan.
