Bashkiria residents' deposit volume increased by 24%

As of December 1, 2024, the volume of bank deposits of Bashkiria residents increased by 24% (compared to December 1, 2023) and amounted to more than 715.17 billion rubles. A year ago, the amount was 576.64 billion rubles (+26% compared to December 2022). This is data from the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.

By December 2024, the amount of mortgages issued was 159.66 billion rubles. It decreased by 33.6% compared to December 1, 2023. If mortgage issuance almost doubled at the end of 2023 compared to the year, then a sharp decline was recorded since January 2024. The slowdown in activity occurred even before everyone's preferred mortgages were canceled (since July 2024). Over the past year, the key rate has grown from 16 to 21%, and since mid-November, the rate of the most affordable non-preferential mortgages has risen above 28%.

Developers continue implementing many projects started in more favorable times, and escrow accounts are growing. By December, the volume of such deposits increased by almost 30% year-on-year to 121.25 billion rubles, compared to 93.59 billion rubles a year ago.

Consumer lending is growing +20% year-on-year to 517.11 billion rubles.
