Internet to be provided on road in mountainous Bashkiria
Mobile communications are appearing on the mountainous section of the Beloretsk highway. According to Andrey Ivanyuta, head of the Beloretsk district administration, MTS will install six base stations in the section from Arkhangelskoye to Kulmasovo in December. Five more are planned for Inzer next year.
"This is vital in our mountainous area. Those who constantly drive along this road, I am sure, will be very happy. Cellular communications have improved not only on the section of the highway but also in the adjacent settlements - Kultaban, Terekly, Kurgash, Usakly, Kulmasovo with a total population of 1.5 thousand people," Ivanyuta noted.
The next task is to provide mobile communications and Internet access to the section from Inzer to Beloretsk.
The telecom equipment was installed as part of the national project "Digital Economy."
In Bashkiria, a regional program called "Accessible Internet 2.0 " provides the Internet to small villages with a population of less than 1,000. This year, 24 such settlements and about 6,000 households have been connected to the Internet.
