The construction of the Sibay-Podolsk-Novorudnaya railway will improve the logistics of export-import deliveries with Kazakhstan and China and reduce the load on the Kartalinsky and Orsk railway junctions and on highways. The length of the road is 163.8 km. Its construction will require approximately 116 billion rubles.
Joint efforts and cooperation between the two countries in expanding logistics corridors will provide additional value and margin, which is so important for any business. This was stated in Ufa, at a section within the XX Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, by Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Volvach.
The government emphasized the need for new railways and road transportation capacities, both for the delivery of goods and for transit, since this has huge potential.
As the acting First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government—Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rustam Muratov noted, the construction of the Sibay—Podolsk—Novorudnaya railway is aimed at solving this problem and will reduce the logistics to the border checkpoints "Orsk" and "Sagarchin" by more than 250 kilometers.
"The implementation of the project will also provide connections between unique non-ferrous metal deposits - Podolskoye, Severo-Podolskoye, Vostochno-Podolskoye and Yubileynoye - and the processing enterprises of Sibay and Buribay. This will allow us to involve 200 million tons of ore in economic circulation. We expect the railway line's annual freight turnover will reach 14 million tons by 2035," concluded Rustam Muratov.
Earlier, Radiy Khabirov spoke about joint projects of Bashkiria and Kazakhstan, Bashinform reported.
