A tourist tax will be introduced in Kumertau from 2025. City council deputies made this decision. According to RBK-Ufa, two hotels are subject to the tax. They will pay 1% of the stay to the city budget, but not less than 100 rubles per day. The municipality expects to receive about 1.3 million rubles per year from tourist taxes.
It is then planned to increase the tax by 1% per year so that by 2029 it reaches 5%. The income received will be used to create tourist entities and develop infrastructure.
As previously reported, 18 municipalities refused to introduce tourist taxes as having no prospects. The head of the Ministry of Tourism, Zukhra Gordiyenko, commented that the burden will fall on tourists staying in already expensive hotels and sanatoriums operating officially and urged not to rush into such decisions.
