Ministry of Finance has proposed to abolish VAT on veterinary services
Ministry of Finance has proposed to completely exempt commercial veterinary services from VAT. The corresponding bill has been submitted to the State Duma for consideration. The document proposes to amend the Tax Code.
Currently, zero tax on added property applies only to state veterinary clinics. VAT is set at 20% of the cost of goods or services.
In May of this year, a bill proposing a tax deduction for the treatment of officially registered pets was submitted to the State Duma. The proposal was justified because many services are paid for even in state veterinary clinics. However, this document has not yet passed the first reading.
As Bashinform News Agency reported, tax revenues amounted to 2/3 of the republican budget, exceeding raw material oil and gas revenues.
