Bashkiria plans to open flights to China with Azimuth company

On November 19, in Moscow, at the site of the XVIII International Forum and Exhibition "Transport of Russia," the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, held a working meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Azimuth Airline Pavel Udod.

Recall that the airline began developing its route network, opening new domestic and foreign destinations from the Ufa airport in 2018. During this time, the carrier increased the number of flights to new destinations from two to ten.

In 2024, the carrier's route network includes three international routes, Yerevan, Samarkand, and Tbilisi, and seven domestic routes: Mineralnye Vody, Volgograd, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Astrakhan, Kemerovo, and Saratov.

Pavel Udod noted that the passenger flow from the Ufa airport in 2024 is projected at 180 thousand passengers.

In an interview, the head of the region told a Bashinform journalist that he had always set the task of expanding the geography of flights operated from the Ufa airport.

"We are currently working on opening flights to Gorno-Altaisk within the framework of an agreement with the Head of the Altai Republic. I think that tourists will flock there. And, of course, we discussed flights to the People's Republic of China. We have made the first approaches to this. We will see because the planes in the Azimuth fleet, superjets, can fly to airports in Eastern Siberia and Eastern China. Of course, we are also interested in Western China. This is precisely the coast, so this kind of work is being done," noted Radiy Khabirov.
