Sunflower harvesting continues in Bashkiria
Bashkiria farms had harvested 465 thousand tons of sunflower oilseeds by November 5. The yield of this year's main oilseed crop is 17.3 centners per hectare, 15% higher than last year's figure, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Bashkiria noted.
In total, 660 thousand tons of oilseeds have been threshed in the region. For comparison, 467 thousand tons were threshed in the area last year by the beginning of November.
Bashkiria actively cultivates sunflowers, flax, rapeseed, soybeans, and mustard. At the same time, the republic produces more than 300,000 tons of vegetable oil annually, which is almost seven times higher than domestic demand.
