Bashkiria is completing the harvesting of grain and leguminous crops. Three million tons of grain, or 95% of the area, have been harvested in the republic.
Recall that the current year has been challenging for farmers due to unfavorable weather conditions. Crop losses resulted from overwetting the soil against prolonged rains, a state of emergency was introduced in the republic, and grain harvesting took place under challenging conditions.
Despite such difficulties, professionals coped with the weather vagaries. Winter grain crop yield and gross harvest are higher than last year. Thus, winter wheat yield was 3.1 tons/ha, and winter rye—1.82 tons/ha.
The technological modernization of the industry is also ongoing. According to the department, since the beginning of 2024, farmers of the Republic of Bashkortostan have purchased more than 1.9 thousand units of agricultural machinery for 9.1 billion rubles. Over 9 months, the region's farms purchased 265 tractors of various traction classes, 147-grain harvesters and 20 self-propelled forage harvesters, 35 self-propelled sprayers, 5 high-performance sugar beet harvesters, 396 units of tillage and seeding machines and implements, and other types of equipment. As Bashinform previously wrote, the domestically produced T500 grain harvester was first tested in the fields of the Start farm in the Meleuzovsky district of Bashkiria in 2021. According to the chief engineer of the farm, they tested all the machine's features on themselves. Still, the engineer of the dealer company was in touch throughout the testing period, remotely observed in real-time, and helped adjust the parameters. He also subsequently monitored the machine's behavior and vulnerabilities, so today, all the necessary spare parts are always in stock and delivered quickly. The republic has a program for the modernization of the technical fleet of the agro-industrial complex, within the framework of which farmers are compensated up to half of the costs of purchasing machinery and equipment. Since 2019, agricultural enterprises of Bashkortostan have purchased 17 thousand units of various types of agricultural machinery and equipment worth about 64 billion rubles. Farmers were paid more than 8 billion rubles in subsidies during this period under the regional program.
