Industrial production in Bashkiria increased by 5.1% from January to July 2024 compared to January to July 2023. This is more than the Russian average, which was 4.8%. The head of the Bashkir Statistical Agency, Ildar Zagidullin, announced this at an operational meeting of the Bashkiria government.
Industrial production in Bashkiria has been growing steadily in recent years and at rates exceeding the Russian average. As Bashinform News Agency reported earlier, in the first half of 2024, industrial production in the republic increased by 5.9% compared to last year and by 4.4% in the Russian Federation.
The highest growth rates are observed in manufacturing, producing electrical equipment, food products, paper and paper products, machinery and equipment, furniture, computers, electronic and optical products, and other vehicles. The volume of investments in fixed assets also demonstrates positive dynamics, having grown by 26.6% in the first half of the year.
For several years, Bashkiria has been a leader in the rating of the effectiveness of industrial policy implementation (in 2024 - 1st place)
The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, explained why this is happening.
“The systematic work we have been carrying out in the republic over the past years bears fruit. Our industry is developing steadily despite the pressure of sanctions and the most difficult economic conditions. We actively interact with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Industrial Development Fund. We are developing industry clusters and opening industrial and industrial parks. We are engaged in import substitution issues. We support innovative projects. We are building effective direct communication with enterprises. We pay great attention to the training of qualified personnel. Special thanks to our federal colleagues for the effective policy that allows us to move forward, no matter what,” Radiy Khabirov noted in his post on social media.
Bashkiria has formed a solid foundation capable of ensuring industrial growth in the future despite external challenges. Today, the republic is a leader in the number of operating industrial clusters (there are 13 of them in the republic), industrial parks (12), and technology parks (19).
Industry is not only machines and equipment but, above all, people. They are the ones who set the most complex equipment in motion. In Bashkiria, conditions are being created for staffing expanding industries. As part of implementing the Professionalism program, the region has strengthened the material base of colleges and attracted subsidies of 1.1 billion rubles. More than anywhere else in the country, 14 educational and industrial clusters have been created.
Bashkiria is among 20 pilot regions with high scientific and technological potential for developing a comprehensive regional state program for scientific and technological development. The republic plans to increase the share of innovative products in the GRP structure to 35% by 2030 and double the volume of fundamental and applied scientific research. The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov, who visited Bashkiria on a working visit, noted that the republic sets high standards, introduces new measures to support industry, and becomes an example for other regions.
