Number of SMEs is growing in Bashkiria

Today, there are 136.7 thousand SMEs in Bashkiria, which provide jobs for more than a quarter of the employed population. This is 4.9 percent more than a year ago, the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism of the Republic of Bashkiria reported.

As the Ministry emphasized, government support measures, including events within the framework of the national project "Small and Medium Entrepreneurship and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives," ensure the continuation of this positive trend.

"There is also an increase in the number of self-employed: over 237 thousand residents of the region have already chosen official registration and a special tax regime, which is 27.8% higher than last year's data," added Acting Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism of the Republic of Bashkiria Zukhra Gordienko.

According to data as of September 10, 2024, the number of microenterprises in the region increased by 5% and exceeded 132.1 thousand, which is 96.6% of the total number of small and medium-sized businesses. An increase in the number of small and medium-sized enterprises was also recorded. The turnover of small and medium-sized companies in the first quarter of 2024 exceeded 203 billion rubles, which is 21.1% more than in the first quarter of last year.
