In Bashkiria, 48% of the sown areas have been harvested, and winter crops are being planted for next year's harvest. The republic is in a risky farming zone, and hardy winter grains with higher yields are an excellent insurance policy, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Bashkiria reminded.
In the region, 50% of the planned winter crop areas have been sown - 189 thousand hectares, including 142 thousand hectares of winter wheat (56% of the plan) and 41 thousand hectares of winter rye (43%). Winter triticale (a hybrid of wheat and rye) is also being sown.
At the same time, harvested and resting fields are being prepared for winter to absorb maximum moisture and the fertilizers applied in the spring. It is planned to process 1.322 million hectares; so far, the work has been completed by 17% - 219 thousand hectares. Over half a million tons of organic matter have been introduced into the fields.
