Industries developed by Bashkiria are reducing their dependence on imports

RIA Novosti reports that the Russian economy is becoming increasingly independent of imports, as demonstrated by industries such as radio electronics, pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, and machine tool manufacturing. The Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sergey Katyrin stated this at the Eastern Economic Forum.

Sergey Katyrin noted that import-dependent domestic production industries continue to struggle with restrictions, but this impact is noticeably weakening. According to him, support for small and medium-sized businesses, increased labor productivity, etc., are necessary to develop these trends.

Bashkiria is taking active measures in these areas. In July of this year, the republic took first place in implementing industrial policy, which resulted from systematic work carried out in the region to develop industrial production, which the Head of Bashkiria drew attention to.

"The systematic work we have been carrying out in the republic over the past few years is bearing fruit. Despite the pressure of sanctions and difficult economic conditions, our industry is developing steadily. According to last year's results, industrial production growth amounted to 6.5% for the five months of 2024 - 7.4%. We actively interact with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Industrial Development Fund. We develop industry clusters and open industrial and industrial parks. We are engaged in import substitution issues. We support innovative projects. We build effective direct communication with enterprises. We pay great attention to the training of qualified personnel. Special thanks to our federal colleagues for an effective policy that allows us to move forward, no matter what. We are ready to participate actively in new national technological sovereignty projects today. We continue to work for the benefit of the whole country, ”said Radiy Khabirov.

In 2024, Bashkiria took a course on forming a machine-tool cluster in the republic. This is especially important now that the import of industrial equipment is limited. Therefore, developing the country's own machine tool industry is one of the most important strategic tasks.
