Farms in several districts of Bashkiria have begun harvesting early oilseeds—rapeseed, mustard, and flax—and sugar beet harvesting is underway in four districts. To date, 2,000 hectares have been harvested, and 84 thousand tons of root crops have been dug up, with an average yield of 47.5 tons/ha. One of the region's sugar factories has already begun production.
Winter crop sowing has also begun: more than 70,000 hectares, or 18% of the plan, have been sown.
Grain and leguminous crops have been mown on 550 thousand hectares, more than a third of the plan. 1.3 million tons of grain have been threshed and stored in bins. The average yield is 2.4 tons/ha.
The plan for haylage preparation has been 100% fulfilled, and hay preparation by 63%. Silage laying continues. About 66% of the sowing area of forage crops has been mown in the fields, about 528 thousand hectares. In general, more than 1.5 tons of coarse and succulent feed units have been prepared per 1 conventional head of cattle in the republic, or 61% of the planned requirement, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Bashkortostan reported.
Farmers are rushing to take advantage of the good weather and get into the average pace of the harvesting campaign - this season, heavy precipitation has greatly slowed down the progress of fieldwork.
