New program for resettling people from emergency housing has begun in Bashkiria

Tatyana Aksyutina

Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin reported that the resettlement of emergency housing in the regions is accelerating. The current program, under which houses recognized as emergency before January 2017 are being resettled, has already been completed by 41 regions. More than half of them continue to work within the framework of the new program.

“Two more regions – Smolensk region and the Republic of Bashkortostan – have begun resettling people from emergency houses identified from January 2017 to January 2022. The Russian Ministry of Construction is overseeing this work. The regions’ applications for funding have been approved by the program operator – the Territorial Development Fund. In total, 24 regions have already begun implementing the new resettlement program. Thanks to this, almost 35 thousand people have already been able to improve their housing conditions; houses with an area of 672 thousand square meters have been resettled,” said Marat Khusnullin.

Upon request, the Republic of Bashkortostan will receive 104.8 million rubles. These funds will be used to resettle 39 residential premises with a total area of 1.2 thousand square meters in Ufa and Birsk. More than 90% of the program participants will purchase housing in completed new buildings, and the rest will receive payments for apartments in emergency buildings.

"Based on the results of 2023, Bashkortostan was among the regions that completed the regional program for resettlement from housing ahead of schedule, which was recognized as emergency before January 1, 2017. More than 1.7 billion rubles were allocated for its implementation, of which 1.4 billion are federal funds. Since 2019, almost 9 thousand people have been resettled from more than 112 thousand square meters of emergency housing. We have exceeded all target indicators, but the problem of resettling people from emergency housing is very acute. We are grateful that the Russian Government supported us, and the republic is beginning to implement a new program for the resettlement of residents from emergency houses," said the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov.
