Bashkiria successfully modernizes utility infrastructure

In 2023, Bashkiria developed and approved a program to modernize utility infrastructure systems at the republican level for the first time. The planned activities are mainly major repairs to linear heat, water, and sanitation facilities.

The regional program of the Republic of Bashkortostan, "Modernization of Utilities Infrastructure for 2023-2027," includes activities based on the principle of having the most significant wear and tear on networks and their high accident rate. It consists of 21 activities. Repairs at 19 water supply and sanitation facilities began in 2023. 9 km of new networks have been put into operation, and the plan for 2024 is to repair more than 100 km of networks. Over the two years of the program's implementation, it is planned to repair 113 km of networks, including 90 km of water supply networks, the rest of which are sanitation and heat supply networks. Investments exceeded 430 million rubles.

Under the program for modernizing the public utility infrastructure, sections of water supply systems in Yanaul, the district center of Buraevo, and the village of Nikolsky in the Birsky district, as well as a section of the gravity sewer collector in Neftekamsk, were repaired in 2023. In 2024, major repairs are planned for more than 100 km of heat supply, water supply, and sanitation networks in 16 municipalities. As part of the program, heat supply networks in Yanaul, Kumertau, and Chishmy are being overhauled this year. In addition, eight projects were implemented in Bashkortostan in 2023 with the involvement of resources from the National Welfare Fund. This includes the transition to apartment heating systems in the district centers of Kaltasy, Arkhangelskoye, and Mrakovo, the reconstruction of heat supply sources in Beloretsk and the villages of Krasnousolsky, Raevsky, Krasnaya Gorka, Pavlovka, and the construction of a water supply system in the village of Verkhnie Tatyshly. The plans for 2024 include the modernization of public utilities in nine settlements. This consists of the construction of a boiler house in Uchaly, the reconstruction of a boiler house in the village of Krasnokholmsky in the Kaltasinsky District, major repairs and reconstruction of water supply and sanitation networks in Ufa, the reconstruction of sewage treatment facilities in the village of Petrovskoye in the Ishimbaysky District, water supply and sanitation networks in Sterlitamak, Neftekamsk and the Aurgazinsky District.

In 2024, it is planned to reconstruct pressure sewer collectors in Neftekamsk and overhaul 24 sections of water supply and sanitation networks in Ufa using funds from a particular treasury loan. In general, the communal complex of Bashkortostan includes more than 1.5 thousand boiler houses, 4 thousand km of heat supply networks, 517 central heating points, 420 water intakes, 16 thousand km of water supply networks, 77 sewage treatment plants and almost 4 thousand km of sewage networks. At the same time, the level of infrastructure wear is 54 percent. The Republic is consistently modernizing facilities and utility networks, including at the expense of various federal programs.
