Bashkortostan has applied to expand Alga SEZ territory

The authorities of Bashkortostan have applied to expand the territory of the Alga Special Economic Zone. The package of documents has been sent to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. The application, according to which the territory of the Alga SEZ is proposed to be increased by 106 hectares at the expense of land plots in the Ufa region, was prepared on the instructions of the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, who noted the high rates of development of the preferential zone and the increased demand of investors for its production sites. If the application is approved, the total area of ​​the Alga SEZ will be 869 hectares.

There are already applicants for the land plots planned for inclusion in the SEZ. The Alga special economic zone is almost 60% filled, and the demand for production sites is constantly growing. This is why the regional authorities are considering expanding it in several directions, the press service of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan reported. Potential residents include the manufacturer of separators for starter, traction, and stationary lead-acid batteries "1AK Separator", the manufacturer of polycrystalline diamond cutters "Superhard Materials Plant," as well as the initiator of the construction of a plant for the production of equipment for filling and dosing liquid materials in various containers - the company "MVS Mechatronics." The Alga SEZ was created in 2020 on the initiative of the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov in the territories of the Ishimbay and Sterlitamak districts. In 2023, the territory of the Ufimsky Industrial Park was included in the special economic zone. The corresponding decree was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Government, Mikhail Mishustin. The total area of ​​​​the Alga SEZ increased from 465 hectares to 763 hectares. Today, 22 companies are residents of the Alga SEZ, with a total declared investment volume of about 65 billion rubles. According to the results of the National Rating of Investment Attractiveness of Economic Zones of Russia, the Alga SEZ was twice recognized as the most dynamically developing among special economic zones of the industrial and production type. In 2023, the Alga SEZ won the rating in the Import Substitution nomination.
