Thanks to the national project "Safe High-Quality Roads," most of Ufa's roads are being renovated. In particular, in 2024, more than 29 kilometers of highways will be brought up to standard in the capital, and the summer repair campaign covers 12 sections of the street and road network.
"Bad roads are a real disaster; they irritate people; I believe that bad roads, as a phenomenon, should not exist in the republic," said the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov during his "Direct Line."
Since the beginning of June, repairs have been underway on Blagovarskaya Street, which has a total length of 1.3 kilometers, in the Nizhegorodka district. The work includes milling worn asphalt and laying new asphalt, installing curbs, and arranging shoulders and sidewalks. At the final stage, markings will be applied with wear-resistant thermoplastic. According to the contract, the contractor must complete the repairs by September 23, 2024, but the work will be completed ahead of schedule.
Near Blagovarskaya Street, the access road to the Pravaya Belaya railway station is being improved. The cost of the work will be 30 million rubles. The street being reconstructed runs along the railway line for about half a kilometer and then turns into the Belaya River Embankment. Its total length will be almost 1.3 kilometers. The implementation of the project involves the demolition of low-rise buildings. The street is being brought to a standard condition with a complete replacement of the roadway surface. A turning circle with a bus stop will be built in the station's area. Completion of the work is scheduled for September 30 of this year.
The new access road will provide convenient access to the Pravaya Belaya train station, where a transport hub will be created. Such a facility will allow you to transfer from a bus or personal car to an electric train and then return along the same route. Let us recall that the City Electric Train project was implemented in 2015; the transport hub connects the southern and northern parts of the city. Russian Railways has reconstructed 19 passenger platforms within the republic's capital as part of the project.
On Lenin Street, located in the historical center, the reconstruction of the pedestrian zone continues as part of preparations for celebrating the 450th anniversary of Ufa. The paving slabs have already been updated, and the entrances of trade organizations have been repaired. Modern bus stops with sliding doors, LED lighting, video cameras, and an emergency call button have been installed along the public transport route. As part of the Clear Sky project, overhead cable lines are replaced with underground ones, making the urban environment more aesthetically pleasing and comfortable for residents.
It should be noted that this year, in parallel with the repair and improvement of roads, sidewalks with a total length of 2,449 linear meters are being built and repaired in 6 areas in the western part of Ufa. As for plans, the city authorities recently signed a contract to construct a bypass of Druzhby Narodov Avenue near the Fencing Center. The work cost will be 139.5 million rubles, allocated by the city and the republic. The new two-lane highway will be 429 meters long, and the maximum permitted speed is 40 km/h. The project also includes the construction of two bus stops and 59 parking spaces. Construction work must be completed by May 2025.
