Bashkir food industry produced products worth 60 billion rubles in 5 months

In Bashkiria, food and processing enterprises shipped products worth 59.1 billion rubles in January-May.

This is 9% higher than last year's five months, and the food production index for this period increased by 34%.

In Bashkiria, at the initiative of the Head of the region, Radiy Khabirov, a program for the development of the food and processing industry was adopted and has been in effect for the third year. In 2022, 50 million rubles of state support were allocated for the modernization of processing facilities of enterprises of the regional agro-industrial complex, 100 million rubles in 2023, and 100 million rubles in 2024.

The department noted that this stimulated dozens of regional enterprises to upgrade their production, which ultimately allowed them to increase volumes.

In the first five months of the year, the republic saw a significant increase in the production of sugar, flour, cereals, unrefined vegetable oil, butter, and cheeses. From 2019 to 2023, food production in the region increased by 28.9%. Food is included in the export goods group. Products of the food and processing industry account for 18% of the exports of the Bashkir agro-industrial complex.
