Foreign trade turnover between Bashkiria and Uzbekistan increased by 63.5%

The foreign trade turnover of Bashkiria with Uzbekistan in January–April 2024 increased by 63.5% compared to last year. At the same time, 87% of mutual trade turnover is exported to Uzbekistan, as stated by the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities of the Republic.

The basis of export supplies from Bashkiria to Uzbekistan are mineral products, chemical industry, rubber, wood and pulp and paper products, food products and raw materials, metals and products made from them, and engineering products.

In the first four months of 2024, most imports from Uzbekistan to Bashkiria were metals made from them, such as shoes, accessories, components, engineering products, food products, and raw materials.

At the end of 2023, Uzbekistan took fifth place in the foreign trade turnover of Bashkiria with a share of 3.8%, having risen by three positions in this ranking over the year. At the same time, the volume of imports in the regions, represented mainly by metals and products made from them, textiles, textile products and footwear, mineral products, products, chemical industry, engineering products, food products, and raw materials, decreased by 16.9%.

As Margarita Bolycheva noted, Bashkiria is interested in strengthening cooperation in terms of investment in tourism, production and processing of agricultural raw materials. At the same time, in the sphere of increasing export supplies from Bashkiria to Uzbekistan, priority is given to mineral fuels, oil and their products, bituminous substances, mineral waxes, wood and wood products, and charcoal.
