From January to March of this year, Brazil took seventh place among Bashkiria’s partner countries regarding foreign trade turnover, rising 38 positions in this ranking. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities of the Republic of Belarus.
As the ministry noted, entrepreneurs in Bashkiria are actively expanding the geography of exports to the markets of friendly countries as part of implementing the national project “International Cooperation and Export.”
“In January–March 2024, we recorded an increase in the foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan with Brazil by 57.2 times compared to the same period in 2023. At the same time, trade turnover is represented only by the export of Bashkortostan products. There has also been a significant increase in the ranking of importers of our products. In January–March 2023, Brazil ranked 33rd in the list of partner countries in exports, and at the end of 3 months of this year, it is already in 4th place. In 2023, the bulk of exports from Bashkiria to Brazil were fuel and energy goods and chemical products,” commented Margarita Bolycheva, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities of the Republic.
She also noted that in working with Brazil, the republic is interested in increasing the volume of export supplies through services in the field of tourism and the construction of various infrastructure facilities, chemical products, agro-industrial complex, medicine, oil production, and oil refining technology.
Vehicle production, medicine, mechanical engineering, and information technology are promising areas for developing investment cooperation.
Within the framework of the national goal of “Decent and effective work and successful entrepreneurship,” the national project “International Cooperation and Export” is being implemented. Its goal is to ensure real growth in non-resource and non-energy goods exports by at least 70% by 2030 compared to 2020.
The target is planned to be achieved through the implementation of federal projects “Industrial Export,” “Export of Agricultural Products,” and “Systemic Measures for the Development of International Cooperation and Export.”
