1.7 million passengers were transported by rail in Bashkiria

Over the 4 months of 2024, 1.7 million passengers were transported by rail in Bashkiria, which is 22.7% more than in the same period last year. Deputy of the lower house of parliament, deputy head of the Kuibyshev Railway, a branch of Russian Railways OJSC, Dmitry Novikov, spoke about this today at the tenth plenary meeting of the State Assembly RB.

According to him, in four months of 2024, commuter trains in Bashkiria transported 1.4 million people, which is 24.6% more than in the same period last year.

Transportation on intra-republican routes increased due to the launch of high-speed trains “Orlan” and “Lastochka” trains in the southern and western directions.

Further development of suburban traffic in the territory of Bashkortostan includes the launch of the second pair of Lastochka trains on the Yuzhnouralsky Express route Ufa - Asha, the extension of the Southern Express Ufa - Kumertau to Orenburg station, as well as start of electric trains of the Lastochka type on the route Ufa - Kandra - Tuymazy.

In 2024, they plan to reconstruct the passenger platform at the Ufa Chernikovka station and install a modular station at Shaksha.

A modern transport hub is planned to be launched at Dema station in July 2024. In the future, a stopping point will be built in the Ufa Yarkiy neighborhood.

Transportation by long-distance trains has also increased. Over four months, 283 thousand republic residents were transported on interregional routes.

On May 27 last year, a new double-decker train was launched on the route Ufa—Samara—Imeretinsky resort. The same train is planned to be launched on the route Ufa—Moscow in the future.

As Bashinform reported, today a presentation “150 years of the Kuibyshev Railway” took place in the Kurultay of Bashkiria.
