Bashkir delegation presented its investment potential in China

Bashkortostan's investment and economic potential were presented in the People's Republic of China. According to the press service of the republic's government, the Russian region's presentation took place in the city of Shenyang, Liaoning province.

Several hundred entrepreneurs and representatives of associations and industry chambers of the People's Republic of China attended the presentation. They were introduced to the initiatives of the largest industrial companies and business opportunities in Bashkiria in various industries.

Prime Minister of Bashkiria Andrey Nazarov paid particular attention to logistics issues. He noted that the republic's geographical location at the junction of Europe and Asia and five million-plus cities within a 500 km radius of Ufa form a capacious sales market and provide opportunities for joint projects to create an effective export and logistics infrastructure. One of them could be constructing a river port in Agidel.

To develop economic relations and, in particular, increase non-resource exports, the Bashkir side proposed intensifying work in the automotive industry and organizing assembly plants of Chinese concerns in Bashkortostan.

The government of Bashkiria noted that China is Bashkiria's leading partner in the field of trade and economic relations. Its share in foreign trade turnover at the end of last year was almost 25%. This is the first place among more than 100 foreign countries where the republic maintains interaction. Cooperation agreements have been concluded with nearly a third of the regions of China - these are six provinces and one city under central subordination. In addition, Ufa is twinned with four Chinese cities - Shenyang, Qiqihar, Hefei, and Nanchang.

Let us remind you that the official delegation of Bashkiria is in China on a working visit on behalf of the Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, the Bashinform news agency reported.

Let us add that the official and business delegation of the Republic of Bashkortostan will visit the People's Republic of China until May 18. The Bashkir delegation will participate in the VIII Russian-Chinese EXPO exhibition, hold some meetings with representatives of the provinces of Liaoning and Heilongjiang, and conduct B2B negotiations between entrepreneurs of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the People's Republic of China.
