Investment activity in tourism industry has increased in Bashkiria

At a weekly operational meeting in the government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the issue of implementing projects to create modular non-capital accommodation facilities was discussed.

Prime Minister of the Government Andrei Nazarov noted that, by the decree of the Russian President on May 7, 2024, the development of the tourism industry is an essential component of achieving the national goal of a “Sustainable and dynamic economy.” By 2030, the tourism industry's share in the gross domestic product is planned to increase to 5%, and the export of tourism services will increase by threefold.

“According to the main indicators of tourism development, Bashkortostan is among the leaders in the Volga Federal District. For example, regarding the number of persons accommodated in collective accommodation facilities, we are in 3rd place in the Volga region and 11th place among Russian regions. We have attracted significant federal funds to support tourism infrastructure for the first time in recent years. For 2023-2024, the amount was about 1.6 billion rubles,” said Andrey Nazarov.

Deputy Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ilnur Taktaev reported on developing tourism infrastructure in the republic, including creating modular non-capital accommodation facilities. He recalled that subsidies of 1 billion rubles were allocated for implementing investment projects to develop modular accommodation facilities in 2023-2024, as well as investors’ funds - more than 1.4 billion rubles. The total increase in the number of rooms in the republic is planned to be more than 750 units.

Ilnur Taktaev added that a single subsidy will support several projects to create camping accommodation facilities (campsites) this year.

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed municipalities to adopt regulations on the transfer of land for recreational purposes and to strengthen control over the use of land plots for their intended purpose when implementing projects to create modular, non-capital accommodation facilities. The regional Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism has been instructed to ensure the holding of competitive selections and the provision of support within the framework of a single subsidy until August 15.
