The regional government stated that the number of small and medium-sized businesses in Bashkiria has increased by 5.9% since April 10 last year. State support measures, including those implemented in the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives,” help maintain positive dynamics.
“Today, 139 thousand SMEs are registered in the republic, employing more than a quarter of the employed population. The share of self-employed people is also growing - more than 205 thousand residents of the region have already chosen official registration and a special tax regime, which is 10.5% higher than last year,” said Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic Andrey Nazarov.
96.8% of business entities are micro-enterprises. Their number has increased by 2.4% since the beginning of the year and reached 134.7 thousand units. The number of newly created SMEs exceeded 33.6 thousand units. Tax revenues to the republican budget increased 1.5 times and amounted to 3.2 billion rubles for three months of 2024.
The national project to support SMEs was approved in accordance with Russian President Vladimir Putin's May decree in 2018. It aims to support businesses at all stages of their development, from the starting idea to expansion and export.
As part of the national project, three regional projects are being implemented in Bashkiria: “Creating favorable conditions for self-employed citizens to carry out activities,” “Creating conditions for an easy start and comfortable doing business,” and “Acceleration of small and medium-sized businesses.” This year, 445.1 million rubles were provided for implementing the republic of activities included in the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives.” Including federal budget funds of 436.2 million rubles and regional funds of 8.9 million rubles.
