Fieldwork is carried out in 44 districts in Bashkiria

Spring work is picking up speed in Bashkiria. Two days ago, enterprises from 33 districts entered the fields; today, there are 44. The most intensive work is going on in the fields with winter crops. By April 17, mineral fertilizers had been applied to 69 thousand hectares, almost 18% of all areas with winter crops. In total, more than 390 thousand hectares were sown for this year's harvest, of which only 18 thousand hectares had to be replanted.

Favorable weather conditions make it possible to simultaneously fertilize winter and perennial grasses and cover up moisture in the arable land. Work is underway in almost all natural and climatic zones of the republic.

It is expected that in the coming days, many districts will already begin the main procedure - sowing spring crops, which will cover an area of more than 2 million hectares, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus recalled.

This year, 1.365 million hectares are allocated for spring grain crops (6.8% less than last year). In this group, the area of durum wheat (24% to 73 thousand hectares) and legumes (chickpeas and lentils (3.8% to 97.7 thousand hectares) will increase by 3.8% to 97.7 thousand hectares.

The area with industrial crops increases by 13.5 thousand hectares to 481 thousand hectares. As a result, almost 51 thousand hectares will be sown with sugar beets, oilseeds (camelina, flax, sunflower) - more than 430 thousand hectares, potatoes - 44.4 thousand hectares, and vegetables (mainly carrots and cabbage) - 9 thousand hectares.
