Bashkortostan farmers purchased more than half of fertilizers needed for sowing

The regional Ministry of Agriculture reported that preparations for the upcoming sowing campaign continue in Bashkiria.

By the end of March, Bashkir farmers purchased 143 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers in physical weight. Calculated per hectare of crops, this is 22 kilograms of active ingredient.

“Last year, the republic’s farmers received a good grain harvest - 3.2 million tons, despite the most difficult weather conditions. This is the result of the growing competencies of our plant growers and adherence to technology, including applying fertilizers in good quantities. The trend must be maintained. The plan for 2024 is to purchase at least 228 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers,” said Deputy Prime Minister of the Government and Minister of Agriculture of the Republic Ilshat Fazrakhmanov.

Spring fieldwork in the republic is expected to start this year in the second ten days of April. Spring crops will be sown on an area exceeding 2 million hectares.

In Bashkiria, the republican budget compensates farmers' costs for purchasing mineral fertilizers. The subsidy limit for 2024 is set at 560 million rubles, the regional Ministry of Agriculture added.

Subsidies for the application of mineral fertilizers in Bashkiria are paid at the rate of 800 rubles per hectare of crops with grain crops, 460 rubles - with oilseeds, and 1200 rubles - per hectare of crops with sugar beets, potatoes, and vegetables.
