From March 26 to 28, the Republican Ministry of Finance Days—“Financial Galaxy”—will be held at the Bashkortostan stand at the international exhibition and forum “Russia.” Deputy Prime Minister of the Government—Minister of Finance of the Republic Lira Igtisamova spoke about why this event interests exhibition visitors and what its business program includes. Remember that the event's central theme was financial literacy; a rich program awaits guests.
Guests at the republic’s stand were attracted by the “money tree,” where you can attach small postcards in the form of banknotes, having first written your cherished wish on the back (perhaps it will come true). Other exciting things include a lottery and videos on financial literacy intended for children. Young exhibition guests can color a piggy bank here and take it as a souvenir; children and adults like puzzles like a five-thousand-dollar bill, which they quickly put together.
Thematic days also include a meaningful business program.
“We try to make the most of every visit to the capital. We invite friends and colleagues not only to look at our achievements in the field of financial literacy but also to discuss pressing issues. In particular, we will discuss approaches to developing partnership financing. This project has been implemented since September 2023. In addition, we will discuss the housing savings project, which has been implemented in the republic for 10 years and has proven itself well. Based on our experience, a bill on long-term housing savings was developed and submitted to the State Duma. Accordingly, we will discuss all this with experts to develop our best practices,” said Lira Igtisamova.
The minister noted that representatives of federal authorities and colleagues from other constituent entities of the Russian Federation come to the days of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic. They are all welcome here.
The Republic began actively addressing issues of financial literacy in 2008. During this time, profound experience has been accumulated, not only in terms of planning financial behavior but also in combating fraud. The task in this part is to talk about such facts as much as possible to help prevent them.
“We have increased to 68% the number of people who highly rate their level of financial knowledge. This was achieved thanks to the financial education infrastructure created in the republic. There is a republican center that trains teachers and kindergarten teachers; we have already trained 4 thousand teachers. A financial research center also conducts classes on financial literacy in work groups. The most interesting feature of last year was the “Dialogues on Finance” campaigns, which are held in cities and regions of the republic,” said Lira Igtisamova.
