Timber industry complex of Bashkiria maintains exports volume of its products

The timber industry complex of Bashkiria continues to maintain the volume of exports of its products, as stated by the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor department for the region.

During January-February 2024, the supervisory agency issued 199 phytosanitary certificates for lumber for export to seven countries - Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

“8,667 cubic meters of products from the processing of coniferous and deciduous trees were monitored. Selected samples of wood products were examined in the Bashkir testing laboratory, subordinate to Rosselkhoznadzor, for the presence of quarantine objects. According to the research results, no dangerous quarantine organisms were identified, and product samples meet the requirements of importing countries,” the Rosselkhoznadzor department for Bashkiria reported.

For comparison: in the first two months of 2023, the Rosselkhoznadzor department for Bashkiria controlled the export of 9,228 cubic meters of lumber.

As Bashinform previously reported, the Bashkiria timber industry complex exported almost 100,000 cubic meters of lumber in 2023.

In March 2024, Bashkiria exported the first batch of lumber this year to Afghanistan, Bashinform reported. More than 240 cubic meters of lumber from coniferous trees from the Beloretsk region were shipped to Afghanistan.

Let us remind you that within the framework of the national goal “Deserving and effective work and successful entrepreneurship”, the national project “International Cooperation and Export” is being implemented. Its goal is to ensure real growth in exports of non-commodity and non-energy goods by at least 70 percent by 2030 compared to 2020.
