“Eastern Exit” to federal highway M-5 “Ural” was opened in Ufa

Today, on March 21, the opening of the long-awaited “Eastern Exit” from Ufa to the federal highway M-5 “Ural” took place. The Eastern exit is one of the largest infrastructure projects in the republic, thanks to which it will be possible to get from Ufa to the M-5 Ural highway in 10 minutes. Before the start of the ceremony for launching traffic along the Eastern Exit, the General Director of the Bashkir Concession Company, Asabali Zakavov, reported to the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov about the facility's readiness for opening.

The Eastern Exit is a 1.2 km road tunnel, a 2.7 km bridge with an overpass across the Ufa River, and a 10 km expressway. Its total length is 13.9 km. The estimated speed of vehicles will be 120 km/h, and in the tunnel, 80 km/h. Thanks to this, drivers will be able to leave the capital of Bashkortostan in an eastern direction much faster.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin, via video link, congratulated the republic's leadership and residents on the commissioning of a unique facility and thanked the builders for their work.

After driving along the Eastern Exit, the Head of the Republic inspected the toll booth and the control room.

According to the Minister of Transport and Road Facilities Alexander Klebanov, there will be a test mode for road travel until April 1, and until this time, no payment will be charged.

From April 1, night fares will be 20 rubles for passenger cars, and from 06.00 in the morning - 100 rubles. Public transport, security service vehicles, post offices and school buses will pass through the exit free of charge.

The Head of the Republic, during a conversation with journalists, noted that for Ufa, for the residents of the republic, the Eastern Exit will create additional comfort and further housing construction development in the adjacent territories.
