

The press service of the Bashkortostan government reported that the number of residents of the Alga Special Economic Zone has increased fourfold over four years. Since 2020, the number of residents has increased from 5 to 21, and the declared volume of investments in their projects has increased from 15.7 billion rubles to 61.8 billion rubles. Today, the occupancy rate of the production sites of the Alga SEZ is 53.5%.
In 2023, nine companies operating in mechanical engineering, woodworking, and petrochemicals became residents of the SEZ. The investment portfolio for their projects amounted to more than 20 billion rubles.
In June 2023, the Russian government approved a resolution to expand the Alga Special Economic Zone territory by including the sites of the Ufimsky Industrial Park. Now, the SEZ's total area is 763 hectares.
Today, the regional authorities are also considering expanding their territory by 106 hectares. Earlier, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, announced plans to increase the SEZ in the cities of Salavat and Agidel.
