

According to NBKI in Bashkiria, 3,966 car loans were issued in February —1,838 more than a year ago (and 894 more than in January 2024). The increase was 86.4%.
These data correspond to the general picture nationwide (NBKI statistics include the 30 most economically active regions of the Russian Federation). In general, in the second month of the year, 104.5 thousand car loans were issued compared to 52.6 thousand a year ago (almost double the growth - +98.7%).
According to more extensive data from Frank RG analysts, a total of 121 thousand car loans were issued in the country last month.
According to Autostat, 103,950 new cars alone were sold in February - 85.1% more than a year ago.
“Demand for car loans remains high in the coming year. Several factors now influence the growth of their issuance. People are trying to buy cars before April 1, when the procedure for calculating the recycling fee will change. In addition, it is worth highlighting all kinds of promotions and discounts from distributors who are trying to reduce the overstocking of their own warehouses,” NBKI comments.
According to the bureau, the average size of a car loan in Bashkiria in January 2024 was 1.36 million rubles, compared to 1.05 million rubles in January 2023.
