Economically active population was counted in Bashkiria

According to the sample survey, the labor force aged 15 years and older in October-December 2023 was almost 1.958 million. About 1.913 million people, or 97.7%, were classified as engaged in economic activities. Another 45.1 thousand people (2.3%) were considered unemployed, meeting the criteria of the International Labor Organization (that is, they did not have a job or gainful occupation, were looking for work, and were ready to start work in the survey week). Bashkir Statistical Agency provides this data.

Meanwhile, by the end of January 2024, 13 thousand unemployed residents of the republic were registered in the employment centers of Bashkiria. Of these, 11.3 thousand people had official unemployed status.

The level of registered unemployment was 0.6% of the labor force.

In January of this year, 2 thousand people received unemployed status, and 1.4 thousand people were employed in a month. The need for organizations for workers, declared to employment centers by the end of January, amounted to 47.1 thousand people. Compared to the end of December last year, this figure increased by 1.2%.
