Trade turnover between Bashkiria and Kazakhstan increased by 4.2% in 2023

As part of the implementation of the national project “International Cooperation and Export,” the foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan with Kazakhstan at the end of 2023 increased by 4.2% compared to 2022, the press service of the government of the Republic reported. At the same time, Bashkir exports increased by 7.2%.

“Based on last year’s results, Kazakhstan took 11% of foreign trade turnover and is in 3rd place in the ranking of the republic’s counterparty countries. 83% of the WTO is made up of exports from the Russian region,” noted Prime Minister of the Republic Andrey Nazarov.

The basis of export supplies to Kazakhstan in January-September were chemical products and rubber (30%), other goods (13.7%), food products and raw materials (13.6%), mineral products (11.5%), wood and pulp and paper products (10.3%), metals and products made from them (9.2%), engineering products (8.3%), textiles, textile products and footwear (3.5%).

As for export prospects, supplies to Kazakhstan can increase the Bashkir agro-industrial complex (meat products, milk powder, butter, honey), the high-tech sector, building materials, fertilizers, wood products, and rubber manufacturers.

Priority areas for investment are aircraft manufacturing, soda ash production, road construction, petrochemicals, and oil refining.

As Bashinform News Agency reported, in January of this year, a delegation from Bashkiria visited Kazakhstan on a business mission, during which 74 Bashkir and 145 Kazakh companies held 280 business meetings.
