At the end of 2023, trade turnover between Bashkiria and Malaysia increased 8.6 times year-on-year, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic reported. This was mainly due to the growth of Bashkir exports by 18.7 times.
Last year, Malaysia purchased mainly chemical products: rubber and products made from them. Experts see good prospects in the trade of wheat and meslin (a mixture of wheat and rye from which bread is baked), various vegetable oils, fertilizers, timber, carbon, machinery, mechanical devices, and different measuring instruments. The ministry noted that the priority areas of investment cooperation include pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, information technology, and agriculture.
As Bashinform News Agency reported, exports of agricultural products increased last year: grain sales increased by 2.3 times, flour by 3 times. 700 thousand tons of products were exported to 44 countries worth almost $340 million.
