In Minsk, a working group meeting on cooperation was held as part of the official delegation of Bashkortostan visit to Belarus. It includes government members, government officials, and entrepreneurs. The participants discussed the results of the implementation of joint projects and prospects for developing relations, the government press service reports.
Welcoming the meeting participants, Chairman of the Belarusian State Oil and Chemistry Concern Andrei Rybakov noted that the road map between Bashkortostan and Belarus is a working document that is regularly updated.
The Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of Bashkiria, Rustam Muratov, said that 118 activities included in the cooperation program have been completed to date. Industry, trade, transport development, agriculture, tourism, and sports projects are among them.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan - Minister of Industry, Energy, and Innovation Alexander Sheldyaev added that cooperation between industrial complexes of the two regions is successful in mechanical engineering, energy, petrochemicals, and light industry.
In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan - Minister of Agriculture Ilshat Fazrakhmanov emphasized that the republics have several potentially promising areas of cooperation in the agro-industrial sector. First, these are agricultural seeds, their production, and their selection.
Also, the head of the agrarian department of Bashkortostan noted the excellent quality of agricultural machinery supplied to Bashkir farmers from Belarus.
Bashkir producers are ready to supply flax seeds and breeding eggs of broilers and waterfowl; these areas interest Belarusian colleagues, noted Ilshat Fazrakhmanov. He emphasized that close communication between Belarusian and Bashkir farmers will continue at the international exhibition “Agrocomplex - 2024”, which will be held in Ufa from March 26 to 29 and where a large delegation from the Republic of Belarus is expected to arrive.
The participants discussed the issue of cooperation under the program “Bashkir-Belarusian Longevity. Tourism".
The Bashkir side invited their colleagues in Belarus to consider the bilateral implementation of the “Bashkir-Belarusian longevity. Tourism" project. A preliminary discussion of this initiative has already occurred within the X Forum “Russia – Belarus” framework in June last year.
In conclusion, Andrei Rybakov thanked the foreign economic services and the Embassy of Bashkortostan in Belarus for their constant contact and efficiency in resolving issues. He emphasized that the work does not end.
First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Rustam Muratov, in turn, said that the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities and the Ministry of Digital Development of Public Administration in the region are preparing a comprehensive document in which all joint working meetings of Bashkortostan and Belarus will be planned for the year ahead.
