Russian Government will allocate funds from National Welfare Fund for aircraft construction
The authorities expect these funds to be recouped and returned to the fund.
The Government of the Russian Federation included in the list of autonomous investment projects to expand the production of aircraft, aircraft engines, instruments, and assemblies. The decision was made at a meeting with deputy prime ministers on January 15.
It is expected that 283.8 billion rubles will be raised on a repayable basis for producing 609 aircraft by 2030.
It is planned to transfer 142 SSJ-New aircraft, 270 MS-21–310 airliners, 70 Il-114–300 aircraft, 115 Tu-214 aircraft, and 12 Il-96–300 aircraft to domestic air carriers.
“State support for this project will make it possible to expand the production of domestic aircraft, ensure the country’s transport independence, and create a full-fledged after-sales service system for aircraft,” the press service of the federal cabinet said in a release.
“Under the conditions of sanctions, our modern air fleet is of utmost importance for the connectivity of the regions of our large country,” Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin commented on the decision.
In total, there are 24 autonomous projects on the list.
