9 thousand tons of sugar were produced last week in Bashkiria
Processing of sugar beets for the 2023 harvest continues in Bashkiria. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic, from the beginning of processing until December 25, the Chishminsky sugar factory and Raevsakhar produced 151 thousand tons of white sugar from 1 million tons of root crops. The sugar yield is almost 15%.
“Currently, the removal of root crops from the fields continues; extremely unfavorable weather conditions prevent the process from intensifying,” the Ministry of Agriculture reported.
Let us recall that the industrial crop was cultivated in 19 regions of the republic in the past agricultural season. The area with sugar beets amounted to 47.5 thousand hectares. The gross harvest of root crops exceeded 1.6 million tons. The best yield was recorded at almost 60 t/ha.
